Pikes Peak Region Native Seed Collecting Members Only
NW El Paso County
Members Only Free Event Hands-On/How-To Workshop Lots of Physical Activity
Native plant seeds are ripening! Join us as we start collecting in preparation for our November seed swap and giveaway. This is a great volunteer opportunity to get outside, learn about native species and seed harvesting techniques, and connect with other native plant enthusiasts! Peggy Hanson, Wild Ones Front Range Chapter Plant/Seed Swap Co-chair, will lead the collection.
This event has limited registration to keep our footprint light on our host's site, so sign-up early.
Note: This event will require physical ability including kneeling, standing for long periods of time, 1-1.5 miles of walking and carrying some lightweight seed collection supplies. Participants should bring sun protection, hydration pack or water bottle, comfortable and sturdy hiking shoes, daypack or hand-held sturdy bag and a snack if desired. All seed collection supplies will be provided.
